Alex Jarocha-Ernst of Muse Games will present a technical introduction to using shaders in 3D games. It will cover concrete examples of
basic transform and lighting, modified lighting models, and
postprocess effects, as well as some discussion of how to keep your
shaders maintainable and performant. The talk will focus on the Unity
3D game engine, but much of it is applicable to any 3D environment
that supports programmable shaders in Cg, HLSL, or GLSL.
Bio:Alex is the lead developer on the upcoming title Guns of Icarus
Online, where he splits time between fancy rendering effects and
scalable realtime game networking. His past work with Muse Games
include CreaVures and the original Guns of Icarus.
