Stroke Rehab Game
Game Controller for Stroke Rehabilitation
“Gamification” is exciting because it promises to make the hard stuff in life fun. The goal of our research is to create a playful experience out of the stressful repetitive tasks of stroke rehabilitation physical therapy. We have developed a precision grip game controller that allows individuals to play video games and receive haptic feedback by manipulating the controller. The controller is instrumented with a 3-axis accelerometer and force sensors to measure grip force, orientation, and motion while allowing individuals to perform functional training in the form of a video game.
