Zynga Talk Retrospective

Last week here at the GIL we had an awesome guest speaker from Zynga, software engineer Joey Sommer.  He came to talk about how they handle hosting online social games with millions of active users, and the key component behind it all being Memcache.  Technical details aside, memcache is faster than a database and highly expandable, and is used for a lot of high traffic internet applications.  If there was any advice a computer science student can take away from the talk, it would be to learn memcache to standout and impress potential employers.
